Pool Covers
Some of these energy-saving solutions are incredibly simple, like the introduction of a pool cover. This reduces heat loss and evaporation. For indoor pools, this allows the air temperature to be reduced, offering further savings which can be substantial. Take a leisure club pool as an example – if this is covered every night when it’s not in use, that’s a third of the year! There are lots of pool covers available today, from the traditional foam thermal covers to more discreet slatted covers which can be built in.

Heat Pumps
When it comes to heating your pool, air source heat pumps have become more and more efficient and are now available even for large commercial pools. We see these as the future for heating swimming pools of all sizes - and being electric, they can work in conjunction with PV solar panels, enabling further cost and energy savings. Ground source heat pumps are another good option, providing you have space for a bore hole.
